Galileo

Galileo an Italian scientist and scholar made pioneering observations that laid the foundation for modern physics and astronomy. Born on February 15, 1564, in Pisa, Italy, Galileo Galilei was a mathematics professor who made pioneering observations of nature with long-lasting implications for the study of physics. He also constructed a telescope and supported the Copernican theory, which supports a sun-centered solar system. Galileo was accused twice of heresy by the church for his beliefs, and wrote books on his ideas. He died in Arcetri, Italy, on January 8, 1642.

Galileo Galilei was born on February 15, 1564, in Pisa in the Duchy of Florence, Italy. He was the first of six children born to Vincenzo Galilei, a well-known musician and music theorist, and Giulia Ammannati. In 1574, the family moved to Florence, where Galileo started his formal education at the Camaldolese monastery in Vallombrosa.

In 1583, Galileo entered the University of Pisa to study medicine. Armed with high intelligence and talent, he soon became fascinated with many subjects, particularly mathematics and physics. While at Pisa, Galileo was exposed to the Aristotelian view of the world, then the leading scientific authority and the only one sanctioned by the Roman Catholic Church. At first, Galileo supported this view, like any other intellectual of his time, and was on track to be a university professor. However, due to financial difficulties, Galileo left the university in 1585 before earning his degree.

Career :

Galileo continued to study mathematics, supporting himself with minor teaching positions. During this time he began his two-decade study on objects in motion and published The Little Balance, describing the hydrostatic principles of weighing small quantities, which brought him some fame. This gained him a teaching post at the University of Pisa, in 1589. There Galileo conducted his fabled experiments with falling objects and produced his manuscript Du Motu (On Motion), a departure from Aristotelian views about motion and falling objects. Galileo developed an arrogance about his work, and his strident criticisms of Aristotle left him isolated among his colleagues. In 1592, his contract with the University of Pisa was not renewed.

Galileo quickly found a new position at the University of Padua, teaching geometry, mechanics and astronomy. The appointment was fortunate, for his father had died in 1591, leaving Galileo entrusted with the care of his younger brother Michelagnolo. During his 18-year tenure at Padua, he gave entertaining lectures and attracted large crowds of followers, further increasing his fame and his sense of mission.

Father of PHP

PHP‘s creator Rasmus Lerdorf  did not thought to create an entirely new programming language, he wants to solve the bugs & issues which he could find in his project.So for this he decided to write a code.At that time that code was become a new Language(used for server side scripting).Over 20 years ago, the Danish software engineer was looking for a better way to fix what he described as a “young problem.” The PHP project kicked off in 1995 and would eventually become a server-side scripting language and general-purpose programming language used by tech giants like Facebook, Yahoo, and Etsy.

Lerdoff, who is a contributor to many open source projects, worked as an infrastructure architect at Yahoo for more than seven years and joined Etsy in 2012.

Now every piece of Facebook code is implemented in PHP language.They used huge because php is a light weight language developed using c++(Object oriented based language).

James Gosling Inventor of JAVA

James A. Gosling, O.C., Ph.D. (born May 19, 1955 near Calgary, Alberta, Canada) is a famous software developer, best known as the father of the Java programming language.

In 1977, James Gosling received a B.Sc in Computer Science from the University of Calgary. In 1983, he earned a Ph.D in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University, and his doctoral thesis was titled "The Algebraic Manipulation of Constraints". While working towards his doctorate, he wrote a version of emacs (gosmacs), and before joining Sun Microsystems he built a multi-processor version of Unix[1] while at Carnegie Mellon University, as well as several compilers and mail systems.

Since 1984, Gosling has been with Sun Microsystems, and is generally known best as the founder of the Java programming language. He is generally credited as the inventor of the Java programming language in 1991. He did the original design of Java and implemented its original compiler and virtual machine. For this achievement he was elected to the United States National Academy of Engineering. He has also made major contributions to several other software systems, such as NeWS and Gosling Emacs. He also cowrote the "bundle" program, a utility thoroughly detailed in Brian Kernighan and Rob Pike's book The Unix Programming Environment.

Andy Rubin

Andy Rubin was born on June 22, 1946 in New Bedford, United States. He is the developer of the Android OS. Since childhood, Rubin has been used to seeing lots of new gadgets. This is because his father, a psychologist who swerved into the direct marketing business, which will store electronic products sold in the room Rubin. 

He has a great interest in all things that smell robot. At Carl Zeiss AG, where he first worked after graduating from college, Rubin was placed in a robotics division, on digital communications between network devices and manufacturing measurement. Following from Carl Zeiss, he had worked in the field of robot in a company in Switzerland.

Rubin's career in the field of robotics seems increasingly clear, but his life changed because of holidays in the Cayman Island in 1989. While visiting the tropical islands in Jamaica, Rubin accidentally met with a man named Bill Caswell. This man was sleeping on the beach, driven from a cottage after a fight with his girlfriend. Andy offers him shelter, and as his debts, Casswell offered the job. 

Rubin has a theory that humanity is on the cusp of a new computing age. Just as MS-DOS gave way to Macintosh and Windows, which gave way to the web, which gave way to smartphones, he thinks the forces are in place to begin a decades-long transition to the next great platform: artificial intelligence.

Sundar Pichai

                              

Sundar Pichai is a computer engineer and the current CEO of Google Inc. The technology giant Google, which specializes in Internet-related services and products, underwent a major corporate restructuring in 2015 following which Alphabet Inc was launched as its parent company with co-founders Larry Page as its CEO and Sergey Brin as President. Pichai, who had been serving as Google’s head of Products and Engineering, was named the new CEO of Google which is the biggest company under Alphabet Inc. Pichai had joined Google years ago in 2004 as a product manager and led the innovative efforts for several of Google’s products including Google Chrome and Chrome OS which went on to become highly successful. Eventually he took over the management of other Google products like Gmail and Google Docs, and rose through the ranks rapidly.

 Born in Chennai, India, Pichai was bright and creative from a young age. Having received his education from some of the most prestigious institutions in the world, he worked in engineering and product management at Applied Materials and in management consulting at McKinsey & Company before becoming a part of Google. Pichai is well-liked by his colleagues and is dubbed as the “man behind Google’s most important products

His Plans:

Pichai became an internationally known figure following the phenomenal success of the Chrome which eventually became the No. 1 browser in the world, surpassing competitors such as Internet Explorer and Firefox. The Chrome also paved the way for a series of other important products like Chrome OS, Chromebooks, and Chromecast.  In 2008, Pichai was promoted to Vice President of product development. In this position he started appearing more often at Google presentations and continued rising up the ranks in Google. By 2012, he had become the Senior Vice President of Chrome and apps.

In 2013, Andy Rubin, the creator of Android, left to work on a different project. Larry Page then made Pichai in-charge of Android as well. His influence continued to increase and he was made the Product Chief in October 2014.

Satya Nadella, CEO

Satya Nadella, 46, was born in Hyderabad, India. Growing up, playing cricket was his “passion,” and he played it competitively as a member of his school’s team. “I think playing cricket taught me more about working in teams and leadership that has stayed with me throughout my career.”

Nadella “always wanted to build things,” he says. He knew that computer science was what he wanted to pursue. But that emphasis was not available when he attended Mangalore University in India, where he got a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. “And so it was a great way for me to go discover what turned out to become a passion,” he says.

He went on to earn a master's degree in computer science from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, then a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Chicago.

“I’m a learner,” Nadella says. “I think the thing that I realized is, what excites me is that I'm learning something. I can learn something about some area. I can learn something from people. I can learn something from doing things differently. And I admire that in other people, too. I fundamentally believe that if you are not learning new things … you stop doing great and useful things. So family, curiosity and hunger for knowledge all define me.”

Mark Zuckerberg

Mark Zuckerberg Born on May 14, 1984, in White Plains, New York, Mark Zuckerberg co-founded the social-networking website Facebook out of his college dorm room. He left Harvard after his sophomore year to concentrate on the site, the user base of which has grown to more than 250 million people, making Zuckerberg a billionaire. The birth of Facebook was recently portrayed in the film The Social Network.

Zuckerberg developed an interest in computers at an early age; when he was about 12, he used Atari BASIC to create a messaging program he named "Zucknet." His father used the program in his dental office, so that the receptionist could inform him of a new patient without yelling across the room. The family also used Zucknet to communicate within the house. Together with his friends, he also created computer games just for fun. "I had a bunch of friends who were artists," he said. "They'd come over, draw stuff, and I'd build a game out of it."

Aalaap RAju

Aalaap Raju (born 6 June 1979) is a playback singer and a bass player from Chennai, India. His rendition of Enamo Aedho from the movie Ko composed by Harris Jayaraj topped the music charts for several months in 2011 and won him the Filmfare Award for Best Mal Playback Singer – 2011. He has sung for music directors like Harris Jayaraj, Thaman, G.V Prakash, Deepak Dev, D.Imman, and Sreekanth Deva. Chinmayi Sripada

Chinmayi hails from a musically rich family, her paternal grandfather is a Padmabhushan awardee, Sangita Kalanidhi, Carnatic music great Dr. Sripada Pinakapani. Chinmayi was raised by her mother, T. Padmhasini, a singer and musicologist, taught her Carnatic music and Hindustani classical music. After her birth and early childhood in Mumbai, Chinmayi relocated to Chennai, where she attended the Children's Garden school until the age of 10. She was then enrolled at Hindu Senior Secondary School, Indira Nagar and went on to complete her school education through home study modules where she was partly home-schooled after her 10th standard.

Chinmayi received the CCRT Scholarship for Young Talent for Carnatic Music from the Government of India at 10.[2] She won the gold medal from All India Radio for Ghazals in 2000 and the Silver for Hindustani Classical Music in 2002. She learned German as a language in the Max Mueller Bhavan in Chennai and completed certification courses from NIIT and SSI in web design. During her school life, she held jobs with both Sify and studentconcepts.org. Chinmayi currently holds a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from the University of Madras.She is also a versatile dancer and mostly enjoys the Odissi form of dance. Apart from her mother tongue Tamil, She speaks Hindi,English,Telugu, Marathi, Malayalam, and German fluently.

Hriday Gattani

Hriday‘s tryst with music started when he attended a concert as a three-year-old. The connect was electric and immediate! Since then, he hasn’t looked back and ensured he sang often. Living with a family that loved music only fueled his obsession for the art. Amongst his early inspirations is the legendary A.R. Rahman.

“For me he is my mentor, my guru, my inspiration! He has this uncanny way of getting the best out of you. Though I first worked with him when I was 12, it was the Coke Studio sessions that were a fulfilling experience.” It’s hardly a wonder that Hriday went on to debut his vocals in Bollywood under Rahman in ‘Lekar Hum Deewana Dil’.

Apart from the tv spot with the Pogo Amazing Kid’s Awards and the live performance at Blue Frog Bombay with his three-piece band, Hridayis keen on writing more and improving his live performances. He is learning from Vishwaraj Pandit ji( Mewati Gharana)lineage of Pandit Jasraj and has also studied western classical (Vocals) at the KM College of Music and Technology in Chennai where he developed a keen interest in songwriting.

Jonita Gandhi

Jonita Gandhi, known to the Indo-Canadian community as Toronto's Nightingale, discovered that music was the language of her soul at a very young age.
